GreatPLAY will be housing Gel Blaster Nexus in our laser tag area where the rounds will alternate between Gel Blaster and laser tag. 16 players will be able to play in a round of Gel Blaster at once in two 8-man teams. Players will be able to choose their game mode in the game library. Constant updates to game modes, as well as new features, keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting!

Sun : 12pm (Noon) – 6pm
Members: $5 for 2 rounds
Non-Members: $10 for 2 rounds
How does Gel Blaster Nexus Work?
Blasters & Gellets: Players use blasters that shoot small, water-based gel balls (“Gellets”) that burst on impact. They’re safe, non-toxic, hit lighter than a paintball, and leave no stains!
Smart Gear: Each player wears a smart vest and a face guard, and uses a connected blaster. The gear tracks hits, health, ammo, and in-game effects using sensors and wireless communication.
Real-Time Game Engine: The system tracks who shoots whom, assigns points, and applies power-ups (like invincibility or double damage) in real time, just like a video game!
Interactive Arena: Players interact with glowing in-arena targets (“Portals”) to earn buffs or change game objectives.
Mobile Integration: A companion app tracks stats, leaderboards, and player profiles. It’s perfect for challenges between friends and family!

GreatLIFE was approached to acquire the North YMCA in 2018, in which they agreed to do so with the goal of adding more amenities to GreatLIFE members for families and youth. That dream became a reality after a nearly one-million-dollar renovation to the equipment and facility. Once becoming a reality, GreatPLAY has turned into a Best of Topeka finalist in 2022 and become one of the most sought out birthday party facilities in Topeka.
